Speech Recognition Services

I offer four Dragon services:

Assessment and Training

I have more than two decades experience as a Dragon assessor and trainer. Over the years I have introduced Dragon to hundreds of people, including doctors, lawyers, professors, writers, journalists, office workers, and university students. I have also led workshops for other trainers and advanced users.

I offer both in-person and remote Dragon assessments and training.

Coaching for Experienced Dragon Users

“You are very knowledgeable [about Dragon] and I loved working with you. I felt very comfortable, and you made things faster and better for me when navigating with Dragon.”

I coach Dragon users to work more quickly, accurately, and reliably by voice — with less frustration and downtime.

People who use Dragon sometimes complain the program is inaccurate, crash-prone, and/or frustrating. But when approached with understanding, Dragon can be super-accurate, stable, and a pleasure to use. Through 20+ years of trial-and-error experimentation, I've learned to avoid many of the program's pitfalls, and developed strategies for imparting Dragon skills to others.

Sessions can be in-person or virtual. Each session is 1.5 to 2 hours. Clients typically benefit from one to three sessions. (There's no minimum.) My fee includes a written summary of topics covered, and email and telephone support between sessions.

Sessions focus on:

Overall, my goal is to double your throughput with Dragon.

Customization and Scripting

I customize Dragon so it responds more accurately to individuals who have non-supported accents and manners of speaking.

I develop custom voice commands for Dragon. My specialty is voice-enabling "Dragon-unfriendly" applications so that they can be controlled reliably, efficiently, and intuitively by voice.

Read a story about how I voice-enabled a complex application.

Training for Technical Staff on Dragon

This workshop is for IT professionals who support employees who use Dragon. The goal is to enhance their ability to configure, troubleshoot, and customize Dragon for employees.

The course has significant hands-on content: participants learn by doing. The topics:

  1. A Dragon "crash course" for technical staff.
  2. How to configure Dragon, Windows, and applications to improve the Dragon experience.
  3. How to troubleshoot and repair Dragon slowdowns, freezes, and crashes.
  4. How to help employees use Dragon to greatest advantage.
  5. How to customize Dragon for employees who have accents and/or speech difficulties; who need to dictate acronyms, homophones, and unusual phrases; who drive "Dragon-unfriendly" applications by voice; and who must operate a computer hands-free (or nearly hands-free).

I deliver this course in a classroom setting, or virtually — whatever works best for your organization.

Get in touch if you'd like to know more. I can send you an overview that includes more details, optional topics, pricing information, and so on.
